About

Rita began her dive into the deep ocean of the Vedic Sciences of India thirty years ago in Southern California.  As a devoted student of Iyengar Yoga, she enriched her practice further and in 1995 began the 3 year intensive teacher training at the Iyengar Yoga Center of La Mesa.  A trip to Pune India soon followed her certification completion in 1998 to study and to celebrate the 80th birthday celebration of yoga Guru B.K.S. Iyengar.

While in Pune, it was an unforgettable exposure of the healing art of Ayurveda with the Iyengar family that inspired her to become a Clinical Ayurvedic and Pancha Karma Specialist.  After moving to San Francisco in 1998 she began teaching weekly yoga classes while continuing her studies.  In the fall of 2001, she was awarded dual certification from the California College of Ayurvedic Medicine and The Vedic Institute of New Mexico.

The depth of the Vedic Sciences led her to dive even deeper under the teachings of Guru Krishan Mantri-ji in the art of Jyotisha (Vedic Astrology), Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, Mantra sadhana, and Sanskrit.  With a focus in medical astrology, she began her studies at the Vedic Vidya Institute in 2003 with renowned Vedic scholar and author Hart de Fouw and then with the Vidya Institute since 2013 with Gitte Bechsgaard.  Over the past twenty years, Rita has continued her studies in the related subjects of Ayurveda, Jyotisha, Vastu (Architecture and Design), Sanskrit, Mantra sadhana, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and has been internationally certified in Yoga Therapy since 2016.

Rita’s extensive knowledge as a Vedic Specialist assists her clients and yoga students to walk their path toward health and spiritual peace.
